The Suwannee River Water Management District's Cuba Bay Tract in Madison County (14 Species observed | 29 individuals) and a stretch of the Aucilla River in Jefferson County (23 Species observed | 77 individuals). Join Tall Timbers' conservation coordinator and AAS board member Peter Kleinhenz for a remote and enchanting trip down a rarely-paddled section of the Aucilla River. This route will begin at the Suwannee River Water Management District's Cuba Bay Tract and end at the Highway 19/27 bridge just outside of Lamont. The total distance will be approximately 5.5 river miles. Along the way, you will pass by some of the largest bald cypress trees that exist in North Florida, intact bottomland hardwood forest, and will experience one of Florida's wildest rivers at its wildest.

The trip will be limited to 10 attendees and boats will not be provided. Depending on water levels there may be as many as 5 log crossings or times when paddlers must leave their boats.
