Juli deGrummond will be leading this walk. Michael Dayton, the original trip leader, had to cancel.
Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park is a great spot for migrating birds. We will be looking for Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, thrushes like Swainson’s and Gray-cheeked, and Warblers like Tennessee, Orange-crowned, Black-and-white, Magnolia, Black-throated Green, and Chestnut-sided.
We will meet bright and early — 7:00 AM—at Phipps Park Gate B where we will sign waivers and listen for birds. This is just up the street from the soccer field complex parking lot. We will walk approximately 3-4 miles. The trails are relatively easy, but do have some topography and occur on natural terrain. This trip will be limited to 15 people.
We have loaner binoculars if you do not have a pair of your own. Please let us know that you will need a pair when you register for the trip.
