Bats of Florida: Our Other Winged Vertebrates
Bats aren't just for Halloween! With more than 1,200 species worldwide, bats are the second largest group of mammals on Earth. Come join Selena and Mark Kiser, as they give a presentation on the bats of Florida on Thursday, October 27th at the monthly chapter meeting. They will cover basic bat biology, myths, life history of Florida species, and how to attract them to bat houses and other artificial roosts. From 1996 to 2005, the Kisers coordinated the North American Bat House Research Project for Bat Conservation International in Austin, Texas, and Selena currently works for the Florida Bat Conservancy. Together they have 33 years combined experience with our beneficial night-flying mammals.
